What is the number one question asked of us?

Road to Santiago

We are planning to walk the Camino de Santiago, a 500 mile pilgrim walk in Northern Spain and when we tell people this the most asked question is “Why are you walking?”.

The Answer

We are walking the Camino for a variety of reasons:

1. It is a good way to commemorate the start of our retirement years. John retired this past March and Terri 2 years ago.

2. We both love traveling to new places and especially love meeting new people from those countries and learning the stories of their lives.

3. Being Catholic we also enjoy the heritage and history of our faith. We hope the Camino will greatly enrich our faith.

4. We had first heard of the Camino 5 years ago from our friend Belinda and have been drawn to it ever since with a steady bombardment of people’s stories, films, pictures and books.

Why are we called? We hope to find out.

We leave for our walk on Sept 6th. We are going to try and keep this blog post up to date on a periodic basis with some stories and photos of our walk.

Buen Camino!

John and Terri
